Overview
FGD wastewater treatment in hard coal and lignite-fired power plants
Process control
Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) wastewater from solid fired power plants is often saturated with calcium sulphate, while containing both metals and chlorides. The process steps of treatment must be adapted to the particular wastewater and often consist of chemical treatment, flocculation and clarifiers and filtration. The water can be reused in the process or further be polished for higher requirements.
Especially in these processes with sedimentation a reliable measurement of the sludge level and sludge profile is essential for a safe clarifier performance and an efficient use of flocculant. With the OPTISENS TSS/ MAC and OPTISYS SLM different analysers and systems of the for TSS interface and profile measurement are available beside a range of rugged and corrosion resistant instruments for flow, level, pressure and temperature measurement.
